November 28th, St. Mary’s students connect with OVU students. The questions, answers, singing and friendship that was fostered was beyond educational. Here a student explains a sandwich to OVU students.

No connectivity or technological issues are going to get us down. Here is the crew in Canada. OVU is up on the SMART board! They are in our classroom! Wow did we ever learn a lot. Topics included; economy, weather, religion, housing and beyond.

We are happy to announce that nearly 7000$ has been raised to; empower, educate and equip students and staff involved in our partnership!

This money goes much deeper than reaching a goal and sending cash to someone in need. The students from Lloydminster Canada and our students here at OVU believe in using the funds raised as a hand up and not a hand out. By doing it this way both sides have been able to see the long-term impact these funds are making and going to make. All money is to be spent in better equipping both schools so further educational connections can be fostered. Students in both communities are the leaders in decision making, project reviews and future planning. This has led to more empowerment than can be explained and deeper learning opportunities that are changing formal educational models, while setting a platform for other schools to mirror.
